Astronauts Will Watch the Super Bowl from Space
Six astronauts living in space may not have gravity, fresh food or a shower, but there is one Earth necessity they won't miss Sunday: They're going to watch the Super Bowl.
NASA's Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Houston will beam the Super Bowl XLVII showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens live to the International Space Station so its astronaut crew can watch the big game along with every other football fan on Earth.
"Yes they are going to watch it this weekend," NASA spokesman Josh Byerly told SPACE.com in an email. Byerly said Mission Control made a special point on Friday (Feb. 1) of asking the station astronauts if they wanted to catch the…

ESA tests prospect of 3D printing Moon bases with lunar soil
Building a base on the Moon poses a rather large logistics problem when all the construction material has to make a 238,900-mile journey. The European Space Agency has proposed packing light: it's teaming with Foster + Partners to test the possibility of 3D printing not just the tools, but whole lunar buildings. The current method would bind powder in layers to create hollow, cellular building blocks that are both sturdy and relatively light. With an improved D-Shape printer from Monolite, the ESA believes it could finish a whole structure inside of a week -- if only we could finish most Earth-bound homes so quickly. There's no word on the likelihood of any spacefarers using the technique, but it's easy to see the value of leaving more room for the supplies that really matter.

How to buy movie tickets with Siri on your iPhone and iPad
As of iOS 6, Siri has been able to help you find movie theaters and showtimes. With the iOS 6.1 update Siri can also help you purchase tickets to the movie of your choice with help from the Fandango app. All you have to do is have Fandango installed and then ask Siri to find tickets.
If you aren't sure how, follow along...
First, you must install the Fandango app on your iPhone or iPad in order for Siri to help you buy movie tickets. It's available for free in the App Store.
- Fandango - Free - Download Now
- Press and hold the Home button on your iPhone or iPad to activate Siri.
- Ask her something like "Find showtimes for Zero Dark Thirty." She will then pull up a list of showtimes.
- Siri may find the movie playing at multiple theaters with different showtimes. Simply tap on the theater that you'd like to go to.
- From here tap on the showing time you'd like to go to.
- Now tap on Buy Tickets.
- The Fandango app will now launch and you'll be able to complete your purchase through there.
- That's it. Your tickets will be purchased and you can either print them out or pick them up at the theater.

Pandora now using Play Store to manage One monthly subscriptions
Pandora users wishing to upgrade from a free to paid account via the Android app can now manage their subscription directly in Google Play. Following a link in the settings of the app now takes you to a Play Store in-app purchase page to start the subscription. A Pandora One account will still set you back the same $3.99 (plus tax, at least in my state,) but this way it will be tied to your Google account. The terms right on the Play Store payment page explain that the app will continue to charge you on a monthly basis via Google Wallet.
This is a really nice way to manage subscriptions for many people, as having things tied to your Google account is usually better than individual logins and payment processes for each service. The new functionality is included in the latest version of the Pandora app, available at the Play Store link above.
